so today was also the first day of class, pretty easy going but the big thing was picking what studio we were gonna take. I ended up in the studio that is gonna be going to Shanghai for a week so I'm pretty excited.

if anyone had any interest in what I actually shoot with, here ya go

Canon EOS 40D (23K+ photos taken so far...a great deal being time lapses)

Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 (when I need the widest possible angle our of what I have)

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L (most used)

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 (when I don't feel like using the viewfinder/having more fun)

Canon EF 100-300 f/4.5-5.6 (rarely used)

this probably shows why the lensbaby didn't quite fit in

i also have a Hasselblad 500 C/M w/ Zeiss 80mm f/2.8 lens but 220 film is expensive and I have nowhere I can process it myself that I know of (although being at a design school there should be a film processing room/dark room somewhere) so I left it back home for now.

btw, classes start today (at 2pm-ish)which i'm both excited for, because I'll be back to doing what I'm used to, and dreading, because what I'm used to doing involves a lack of sleep and excessive amounts of work

lensbaby is no more

so one week later I returned the lensbaby...

it was just the first lens I had bought that I was dissatisfied with and even though it was cheaper than most of my lenses, that sense (along with the opinions of some of my friends) was enough to outweigh the benefits of having a lens like that

kinda cheating since this was taken a few days ago, but I didn't take any pictures today...I don't have the coordination to take pictures while riding my bike

still deciding if I like the lensbaby, not sure if it's found a home yet amongst the rest of my glass...guess I have 3 more days to find that or I'm gonna return it. please comment with a yay or nay (or whatever sort of feedback) on whether i should keep it.

picked up a new lens today. its a lensbaby composer...its gonna take a little getting used since its well out of the range of what I usually shoot with, but it should be fun. also using lightroom again to keep myself better organized

so...to motivate me to take more photos and make more blog posts I'm gonna start posting a photo I took everyday starting with this one. The ones following this will be a picture I took on that day (as opposed to this one which is a week old, but I didn't have an idea for blogging until now).
